Rear Extension & Orangery in Red Lodge

The client wanted somewhere to play snooker without leaving the house — and wanted the room to feel grand rather than like a garage conversion. The answer was a new rear extension with a hand-cut, vaulted roof giving the height a snooker room needs, panelled walls and a run of windows down one side.

Alongside it sits a glazed orangery with a roof lantern and corner-opening bifold doors, so the whole space opens straight onto the garden in summer. Steel portal frames carry the opening; everything above is traditional structural carpentry.

The job ran 24 weeks from groundworks to decoration, working with the client's architect and a structural engineer. The gallery runs from the finished rooms back through the build, so you can see the frame and roof going up.
